Bullhead Ranch - Meats
3742 West 7550 South,
Benjamin, UT 84660. Phone: 801-794-1336. Email us at:
[email protected]. We use natural practices, but are
not yet certified Organic. Payment: Cash, only. We raise
chicken, lamb and chevon in as natural a setting as we can make.
Our animals are all on pasture and are not locked in a feed lot
atmosphere. They are rotated through four different pastures to
give them access to fresh grass at all times and to interrupt
the worm cycle. Our chickens are out to roam the pastures (and
in the Fall after harvest, they get our garden as well) where
they scratch bugs and eat the fresh grass. You will find our
eggs have a beautiful almost orange yolk and great flavor. Our
meat chickens are more dense than a store-bought version so it
weighs more for its size. Our lamb is from a heritage breed, the
Navajo-Churro sheep. These produce a lightly flavored meat that
is superior. Our chevon is from several different breeds of
goats. While we like a bit of Nubian or Boer in the father to
produce a good sized animal, we have found that a milk doe makes
a tremendous amount of food for the kids to grow on. All of our
animals are pre-sold prior to slaughter dates, so please email
or call to be on the list if you are interested in any of our
animal sales.

"Verd's Fruit Market is the oldest business in Orem, Utah. The
best way to describe this place is magical. They have all local
produce from local farmers and I dare say that it is the best
produce in the state. They have everything starting with
cherries and ending with pumpkins. All locally grown. Only open
4 months out of the year it truly is a sad day when they close
for the season." (ADDED: August 11, 2008, suggested by a
