What's in season in May 2017, and other timely information:

May brings with it Spring and the ability to buy locally, especially in the deep South where fresh strawberries are available in Florida and Texas, followed by California. Cold weather crops, like spinach, some lettuces, peas, kale, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, leeks and early onions being harvested in all but the colder regions. Many markets still have fresh winter squash, stored from last Autumn.

Comments from a visitor on September 03, 2012: "I really enjoyed every Saturday I went. Vendors occupy no less than 2 and as many as 4 covered pavillions depending on the Saturday. I never made it to the Tuesday evening markets so I can't comment on those. I look forward to the fall markets. I hope to be able to tour at least one of the farms someday--I think a couple of them offer tours, CSA, and/or PYO.. Not sure if we have any Arkansas or Oklahoma farmers. If I manage to try one in particular I'll let you know.,
