The River District Farmers Market is the oldest Farmers Market in Lee County. Originally named the Downtown Farmers Market, The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) organized the River District Farmers Market in 1994 to provide convenient and inexpensive market facilities for area vendors to sell their products directly to customers at reasonable prices. Handicap parking is located at City Hall. The Sanibel Island Farmers Market was established in 2008. It is a favorite outdoor activity for islanders and visitors from October to MAY.
